Biography

Accomplished market strategist and communicator. Experienced disruptive technologist and well-connected entrepreneur/innovator. Dedicated analyst and project lead. Adept at strategic discussions with both R&D and C-Suite.

Can speak to cloud infrastructure and new/disruptive technologies. With COVID-19, these technologies are essential for building digital infrastructure and digital capabilities. Can speak to implications of remote distancing activities of the workforce post COVID-19.

Alison is an " innovation infrastructure" futurist, strategist, technologist, and communications expert. She advises entrepreneurs, investors, and governments regarding clean technology businesses with over two decades of knowledge built up in the renewables, clean technology and finance fields. Alison's career includes executive roles for NREL and several successful start-ups. She is a frequent speaker, presenting for important forums globally from Colorado, to Silicon Valley, to Europe, and China.

Alison was one of six strategists who built the Sustainable Business Achievement Rating system (S-BAR) whose methodology was adopted by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) for their assessment of business sustainability in 2010. She founded one of the first trade associations for sustainable businesses 20 years ago, Sea Change, that engaged political and corporate decision-makers to rethink the meaning of value in a carbon constrained economy and included renewable energy companies such as CalPine and Clipper Wind. She was a senior strategist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) working on financing models for distributed and industrial solar among other foci, including the Venture Capital Network and generating the program strategy for an innovative approach to mapping clean energy activity (including investments) called OpenEI.

Currently, Alison has just served as head of business development for a solar + storage design/engineer firm called SepiSolar (9/2020-5/2021) and is now climate advisor for the management consultancy Concinnity. She was also the Clean Technology Business Development Manager for the Economic Development Council of Seattle & King County (4/2016-1/2018). Recently she has been engaged in the cutting-edge industry of the Internet of Things (IoT) and energy storage as Strategic Marketing Manager for Samsung (10/2017-1/2020).
